abstract = "O estudo estat{\'{\i}}stico da temperatura do ar, umidade
relativa e das componentes meridional e zonal do vento foi
realizado para validar os dados das re-an{\'a}lises do European
Centre Mediun-Range Weather Forecast (ECMWF) com as
radiossondagens do Centro de Lan{\c{c}}amento de Alcantara (CLA).
O conjunto de dados compreende o per{\'{\i}}odo de 1988 a 1993,
no hor{\'a}rio das 12:00 Z e nos n{\'{\i}}veis de 1000, 925,
850, 775, 700, 600, 500, 400, 300, 250, 200, 150, 100, 70, 50 e 30
h.Pa. As compara{\c{c}}{\~o}es mostram claramente as
diferen{\c{c}}as e semelhan{\c{c}}as entre as re-an{\'a}lises e
radiossondagens. As assimila{\c{c}}{\~o}es conseguiram captar
pontos importantes dos perfis verticais das
observa{\c{c}}{\~o}es como a altura da tropopausa, atrav{\'e}s
dos dados de temperatura, as mudan{\c{c}}as de
dire{\c{c}}{\~a}o do vento, com dados das componentes zonal e
meridional do vento, que possuem, Bias entre 0,6-1,5 ms-1.
Entretanto os dados de umidade das re-an{\'a}lises do ECMWF foram
mais elevados do que os das radiossondagens, com diferen{\c{c}}as
em torno de 50-70 entre 400-100 hPa. J{\'a} a segunda parte deste
trabalho realizou a identifica{\c{c}}{\~a}o da passagem dos
Dist{\'u}rbios Ondulat{\'o}rios de Leste (DOLs) pela regi{\~a}o
de Alc{\^a}ntara, no per{\'{\i}}odo de 1988 a 1997 utilizando o
m{\'e}todo de mudan{\c{c}}a do sinal da componente meridional do
vento, entre as camadas de 850-700, 700-500 e 850-500 hPa,
associada com alta Umidade espec{\'{\i}}fica. Ap{\'o}s
detectados os DOLs, estes foram confirmados por dados
independentes de cobertura de nuvens e tamb{\'e}m pelos espectros
de pot{\^e}ncia da componente meridional do vento. A an{\'a}lise
da mudan{\c{c}}a do sinal de V detectou a presen{\c{c}}a de DOLs
durante todo o ano com intervalo de tempo de 3-6 dias. Esse
m{\'e}todo revelou 64 eventos na camada de 850-700 hPa, 96 em
700-500 e 100 na camada de 850-500 hPa, onde todos apresentaram
alta umidade espec{\'{\i}}fica, al{\'e}m de nebulosidade sobre
Alc{\^a}ntara, com valores em torno de 80. ABSTRACT: A
statistical study of the air temperature, relative humity and wind
components was undertaken in order to validate the ECMWF
reanalysis data using observational rawinsonde data collected at
CLA for the period from 1988 to 1993 at 12:00 Z. The
meteorological variables are extracted at the levels of 1000, 925,
850, 775, 700, 600, 500, 400, 300, 250, 200, 150, 100, 70, 50 and
30 hPa. The reanalysis was able to capture important points of the
vertical profiles of the rawinsondes, mainly the height and the
values (air temperature) of the tropopause, and the changes in the
wind direction. However the ECMWF reanalysis data showed stronger
humidity than the rawinsondes with differences around 50-70 at 400
and 100 hPa levels. The second part of this work accomplished the
identification of the passage of the Easterly Wave Disturbances
(EWDs) over the Alc{\^a}ntara region, in the period from 1988 to
1997, using the method of signal change of the meridional
component of the wind. This methodology was applied to the
850-700, 700-500 and 850-500 hPa in associatin with an increase of
the specific humidity. The cases selected of EWDs detection, they
were confirmed by independent data of cloud cover and also by the
power spectrum of the meridional component of the wind. The
analysis of the V detected the EWDs during all over the year, with
time interval varying from 3 to 6 days. This method revealed 64
events in the 850-700 hPa layer, 96 in the 700-500 and 100 in the
850-500 hPa layer, where all presented positive anomalies of the
specific humidity how much and cloud cover values around 80 o over
Alc{\^a}ntata.",
